The Parish Shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe church gave their approval without any objections for the proposed use of the Guadalupe image on the banners for the Guadalupe Street Association Banner project.
In order to make banners possible along the Guadalupe St. corridor the community will need to raise approximately $5,000.00 to print and install the banners. There are roughly 40 businesses along the south Guadalupe St. corridor. so the suggested contribution is $125 per business. Some businesses will be able to contribute more than the $125 and other's less. The banner project is completely self funded by the Guadalupe St. businesses and we will not be able to proceed until we have 100% of the funds. Fairfield College students spent their spring break learning about the community in Santa Fe through serving, spending time in nature, and listening to the elders of the community. Their days consisted of working on local farms and preparing the soil for spring, hikes in historic ruins, and time with local elders and youth. Students focused on lessons of sustainability, balance, humility, and being present.
