ArcGIS Online Competition in NM

CLN supported the ArcGIS mapping competition in New Mexico thanks to the leadership of John DiRuggiero.
Each year, Esri hosts an annual ArcGIS online competition that is open to high school ("HS," gr.9-12) and middle school ("MS," gr.4-8) students who can gather, create, analyze, interpret, and present data via an ArcGIS StoryMap.
Does your school or community site already have ArcGIS software bundle?
the ArcGIS storymap to see if your school appears
Esri offers to all K12 schools (public, nonpublic, and homeschools), districts, and formal youth-serving clubs the ArcGIS School Bundle for free for instructional use, around the world. The bundle is anchored by an ArcGIS Online Organization, and includes a fleet of supporting tools. Schools in US should see esri.com/schools for more info. Schools beyond USA should see your Esri distributor.

2023 ArcGIS Online Competition Overview

ArcGIS Pilot Program with
21st Century
Community Learning Centers

Picture
"The 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program was established by Congress to award grants to rural and inner-city public schools, or consortia of such schools, to enable them to plan, implement, or expand projects that benefit the educational, health, social services, cultural and recreational needs of the community."

As part of the Afterschool educational programming at Amy Biehl Community School in Santa Fe, New Mexico, 21st Century started a pilot with local GIS Professional John DiRuggiero using ArcGIS Online software to teach students and teachers how to use this GIS Tool to create maps with geospatial information.  Amy Biehl Community School 21st Century program worked with the Santa Fe Community College School of Liberal Arts on a project to create a map and storymap of the planned trip to Italy along with the itinerary and photos of each majestic location along their journey.
