Thursday, May 10, 2018 | Santa Fe, New Mexico
Learn about the present state of, and future needs of, the Internet in Indian Country thanks to this learning and roundtable session at Santa Ana Pueblo hosted by the Internet Governance Forum for the USA (IGF-USA) in partnership with AMERIND Risk and AMERIND Critical Infrastructure at their offices in Santa Anna Pueblo.
This event is part of the IGF-USA’s "Internet Community Road Trip," an initiative of the IGF-USA to be on the ground across the country and engage with communities throughout the United States to capture and promote a diverse range of perspectives on the Internet. The goal of this initiative is to increase dialogue and coordinate on the local, regional, Tribal, and national levels around the issues that will be covered at the IGF-USA 2018 national conference. The IGF-USA is thrilled to be able to make the Pueblos and Tribes in New Mexico a focus and one of our major stops on this journey.
Chapter Meeting and Panel Discussion
Thursday, January 25, 2018 | Santa Fe, New Mexico
The New Mexico Chapter of the Internet Society is holding its first chapter meeting on Thursday, Jan. 25, from 2:30-4:30 at the Santa Fe Indian School at 1501 Cerrillos Road, Santa Fe, NM 87502 (in the Rotunda room in the Dorm building). (This event is free and open to anyone.)
The event will begin with a panel discussion among key players in New Mexico’s growing DIY internet movement, and will include representatives from the Middle Rio Grande Pueblo Tribal Consortium (comprising the Cochiti, San Felipe, Santa Ana and Santo Domingo Pueblos), the Navajo Nation, and the Laguna Pueblo, among others.
