Santa Fe ArcGIS Pilot Program
21st Century Community Learning Centers
"The 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program was established by Congress
to award grants to rural and inner-city public schools, or consortia of such schools,
to enable them to plan, implement, or expand projects that benefit the educational, health, social services, cultural and recreational needs of the community." As part of the Afterschool educational programming at Amy Biehl Community School in Santa Fe, New Mexico, 21st Century started a pilot with local GIS Professional John DiRuggiero
using ArcGIS Online software to teach students and teachers how to use this GIS Tool to create maps with geospatial information.
Amy Biehl Community School 21st Century program worked with Santa Fe Community College, School of Liberal Arts on a project to create a map and storymap of the planned trip to Italy along with the itinerary and photos of each majestic location along their journey.
